White lines will surface in small crevasses when the strap was bent and stretched.
As well as the under-color of the leather. Creates contrast between top and bottom layer.
Casusing minor chips of wax tend to fall off the surface during the break-in process.
This is not a defect. But a characteristic this particular leather processing shows.
Also avoid getting the strap wet or near cosmetics. Like sunscreen, perfume or creams.
For they might stain, discolor or deteriorate the strap prematurely.
Limit exposure to both sun and heat as well.
Excessive heat and sunlight can cause dry out and crack.

How Do You Maintain Oil-Waxed Leather?

For surface stains or dust, use a soft cloth or a feather duster. It can also be cleaned with a damp cloth. Don't get the fabric too wet, and don't rub too hard, as you don't want to stain the surface or lose any color further.
Although it has wax and oil to help increase waterproof level. But only comparatively to generic leather. It is still very susceptible to moisture and damage from the elements. Please do not let the strap stay or submerge in said environment.
